Title: Free will and forgiveness
Description: Congress outlaws both.

Okay, so I was in my English class a couple weeks back and my teacher was talking about God and myth (the focus of the class is on myth and the Hero's Journey), and she brought up an interesting question that I pose to you all:
God gave us free will. Thus, we are given the freedom to do as we please. Yet, apparently, to get into heaven, we have to make the right choice (i.e. accepting Jesus as our savior). Now, how can any good God, who gave us this freedom, damn us to hell for making the wrongchoice?

For many Christians, it's not some blind decision that you make in the dark and then you wait til you die to see what happens. Rather, the choice is to love God or not to love God. By not loving God, you damn yourself. God doesn't "damn" anyone.
