Description: Fear me! For I am da' LORD!

It seems to me, that if Jesus Christ were alive today, he would not be a TV evangelist.

And why would that be out of curiousity?

Well, they say they accept all denominations, but I can see their eyes light up over $10's and $20's.
that more or less sums up TV evangelists.

I think that's the a growing stereotype.

What makes you say that though?
What has led you to believe that?

Well let me play devil's advocate to my own statement.
Here goes:
Why TV Evangelists are following Jesus' methods:
1. They are itinerant preachers.
2. They ask people to give what they have in order to support the mission. Jesus asked his followers to depend on the favors/donations of others in order to survive.
3. They heal people.

I have seen many televangelist say that they can heal people... Okay let me stop here and say that. that is a crock of crap only god/Jesus can heal anyone not t he televangelist or a preacher any of either that say they personally can heal you will burn in hell and I ask god to forgive me for that mortal judgment of them because it's not my place to judge but that is what the bible says about healing... The story of the three wise men in the bible says that they believe that by touching and say be gone that they themselves could heal or cast out demons... the died do you wanna know how? I'll tell you anyway one was kill by god himself and the other two were killed by the demon whom they were supposed to be casting out without god. also god doesn't ask for donations he ask for a tithe and that is 10% the bible does not say 10% of what it could be 10% of you daily life, it does not have to be your money...

God does things through people (example: Moses, Elijah, ect), so I agree that they can't actually do it by themselves. God does however give people gifts, which are mentioned in the bible such as healing. Tithe is 10% of your first fruits (your, first, fruits. your-profit worked for-set aside for God which could be weekly-monthly-year depending on whenever you profit from something like working at a job). Read more on healing, spiritual gifts, and tithes. Also read how God tells prophets to go places without any extra material possesions (money, extra clothes or staves, ect).

Well the Bible says that the apostles healed people as well. And when preachers heal, they often say "by the power of Christ you are healed." So it is still Christ that is supposedly doing the healing. What I do not understand is why everyone has to fall down all the time.

Out in the Spirit?
It happens from time to time, but it's not like a ritual thing and it's not just passing out.
I couldn't really explain it though because I haven't experienced it myself.
