It's been a long time since I last posted here, but I am startled to find such a lack of activity.

Where is everybody and what has happened to this forum?

I know I am guilty of disappearing too, but this place was once brimming with lively debate.

I've checked back a few times over the past couple months to lurk and noticed it's fairly dead now. I quit a long time ago myself and now I'm busy with work and other projects, but I was a little surprised it just became inactive.

It's okay to disappear from a board with almost no activity :P Makes your return all the more powerful!

Back during the winter months, had stayed busy cutting firewood for sale. It netted some decent income and allowed Santa to be fatter than expected last year. From doing that, it kind of got me out of the habit of coming here much. PnP was already kinda dying out by then.

Since the manual labour excuse is gone, my online efforts had been focused upon an MMO game called "Utopia". Then someone introduced me to "Travian". Haven't done much of anything online since having bought a new display for the computer. It's an Acer 22" and looks wonderful! I've been playing Counterstrike: Condition Zero like crazy. It looks SOOOOO GOOD on that monitor. :) And it was a steal at about $230!

Someone had given me an older HP computer. Had a pretty decent video card which I'd finally found a long-lost install disc for it. Installed into that computer, got the video drivers to take and "BLAM!", Windows explorer is giving wierd errors like .DLL file is missing and can't open anything... no control panels, IE or regular explorer. Guess it's screwed royally now. :(

Will check back here a bit more regularly, but if it's once a week, then it'll be doing good on my part. The best way to get a response is to PM like Zairik did. :) He wrote a novella, but I read every word and was glad to see what he's been doing of late.

I myself have been busy with Medical School and stuff.

What happened to DeltaSix, blizzard and that Conservative dude?

I haven't heard a thing from DeltaSix. He moved... I think up near his girlfriend. Couldn't say on blizzard either, though he was known to disappear a few months at a time. Lorpius Prime is still around online once in a while. I see him on MSN or AIM on occasion. Beckman and Zairik are about the only two others that I've seen post anything here at all.

And Morpheus is going to M.I.T. in a few weeks... so real life marches on :)

I'm a webmaster for a newspaper, and I also do freelance projects on the side. I've been running a gaming server (for MMORPG private servers) since Feb 2007. We only take donations, and we're getting double the amount in pure profit than it costs to rent our high-end dedicated server. I couldn't actively post if I wanted to though, work keeps me busy, I don't get home until 7pm and when I do I manage the game server (it's not really work intensive, and at this point it almost runs itself). Little of my free-time is actually free-time.

As far as recently, I've been breaking open and hard modding or installing custom software/fireware on my PSP and PS2 to run "backups". Not that I even have time to play them, I really have no idea why I do it other than "just because I can". I successfully ran a "backup" on my PS2 yesterday right after I got the custom swap discs and swap tool in the mail. Yeah I know, I'm behind when it comes to console generations, I got a refurbished PS2 about a week or two ago for a fraction of the original price. As far as my PSP, I replaced the gameboot squence and intro sound with one I made custom (a mix of console intros, and the voice I recorded of two women saying "PSP" for japanese commercials), installed an SNES emulator, and added a few "backup" ISO's of various games to my new 4GB memory card.

I'm still around, very busy though. Working my way through the corporate world with my job, not much time at home really. I get paid for 40 hours a week, but seem to work much more than that. Also hanging out with the girlfriend takes up most of my free time, and then the rest is just spent sort of sitting around reading and the like.

Right now I think blizzard is in Mexico too, doing some studies abroad.

I still check in every so often, but yeah, don't really have the time to keep it up and running. If anyone is truly interested in maintaining the forum, send me an e-mail. But I think its pretty much dead now, despite having a fairly good run.

Edit in retrospect: Another thing that forced me away from the forum was the overwhelming problem of dealing with spambots and general spammers. That really sucked the joy out of running the forum. I think its still just closed for new sign ups, because despite the fact that its not often used, I'd rather the forum not be overrun with spam. I still think that it is an excellent resource to look back on.

Hello stranger. Glad to see you are still alive and kickin' around. Am thinking your girlfriend is probably grateful you spend the time past spent on PnP upon her. :P

One of these days, I'll have an excuse like a 3-D GF or real job to use to explain my absences.
