When you receive a SPAM e-mail from your friends for a petition regarding an amendment passed over a year ago and had no clue... then you know you aren't staying current. And will have to review all the past posts in this forum to find out if this has even been brought to light.

I personally hold no grudges against illegal aliens. Sometimes can even empathize with their situation. Yet what is the purpose of having citizenship in a country if the (self-censored: FXXXING) benefits are paid to everyone!?!?! Call me unpatriotic... or whatever you feel appropriate, but I don't support a government that feels the failing SSA should pay out to those undeserving. No one said, "Hey, let's change this to a slush fund or a charity for some starving country?" and put it to a real vote.
When Congress can pass laws that are clearly unsupportive of the very population for which it "supposedly" serves, that it will give back something that it never got to begin with... or are some people thinking that the government simply taxes those invalid SSN's and says "Oh, we know they're bad" and "We're paying it back out like we should". If they fake the SSN's, what is to prevent them from doing the same on the W-2's??
This is CLEARLY an injustice. Am still trying to wrap my mind around the concept that this is really a law and that we've made some caveat to please some special interest group or a minority population to get re-elected. This makes me ABSOLUTELY SICK!
