The serpent is a rather interesting character. For all the evil we attribute to him, for all the times we associate him with the devil. We forget one thing. He gave us the gift of a conscience. Knowing of good and evil. We often claim that Eve was deceived into eating the fruit, but reading through the story doesn't really show any deceiving going on. In fact the serpent seems to level with man more than god does.
Yet the serpent is the epitome of all that is evil. Why?
Why were all snakes punished because of Lucifer?
Either Lucifer disguised as a snake or possessed one, but how are snakes to blame?
For that matter, why were all Humans punished because of Eve and Adam?
Lucifer, as the light bringer, looking at the positive aspects. I've noticed this before.
The fall of Lucifer is the origin of the story chronologically. Lucifer, one of three arch angels, basically second only to God himself, is able to convince a third of the entire host of angels to rebel against the almighty creator and ruler of everything. You get some really strange thoughts from this... was Lucifer really that good of a public speaker to rally so many angels to his cause or was God that much of a jerk that something had to be done to stop him?
Side-track: In Mormonism where Lucifer and Jesus are brothers, Jesus wants people to "choose" (as if coercion is a "choice") heaven or hell, and Lucifer doesn't give people a choice he just has everyone go to heaven and doesn't allow anyone to go to hell, which makes you ask why Jesus is the better one in that situation pleading for the saviour of Earth position if in reality he's sending about 99% of the population to hell. Ah well, Mormon Jesus had more important things to do, like teach Joseph Smith the secret to making magic underwear.
There are certain awkward points in the fall of man story also, "in that day you shall surely die", "you shall not surely die", they eat, they didn't die then or that day, God has to now use a strange poetic meaning for his statements when speaking to newly created ignorant illiterate human beings...? Humans judged for doing evil, yet they had not yet gained the knowledge of good and evil? The tree of life was there also, they weren't told not to eat of it (it would have made them immortal), yet Adam and Eve never touched it. Seriously, if eating a fruit to gain immortality is of no interest to you, how could you be judged so harshly for being dumb enough to listen to a talking snake (which God allowed to talk to humans to corrupt them).
God seems to act like one of those pagan gods who has limited senses and knowledge and power when in Genesis after creation, was he a little tired even after his power nap on the Sabbath? Can't really blame him I guess, he did create everything on a deadline, apparently he had enough foresight to create the Sabbath for man even before man was created but not enough to save man for Original Sin. Think about that for a second, Adam and Eve had no reason to "work" in the garden, every date was a day of rest to them, they were living the good life. There's no reason for this unless Original Sin was already in the plans.
Why was Lucifer allowed to live, much less to keep power, and screw up the rest of God's future creations? Some ideas come to mind, perhaps Lucifer was originally the "only son" of God, and therefore can't be killed, and why he could convince a third of the angels of heaven, why he had such a high standing, why he had and retained power and influence. Why is Lucifer called the Morning Star when that is also used to describe Jesus?
| QUOTE |
In Latin, the word "Lucifer", meaning "Light-Bringer" (from lux, lucis, "light", and ferre, "to bear, bring"), is a name for the "Morning Star" (the planet Venus in its dawn appearances). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucifer |
It's all silly, but you can't help wondering who is suppose to be the good guy and why Jesus and Yahweh have so much of a drastic attitude difference as well as contradicting each other on nearly every single point that matters. Think about how much the laws change, how much the doctrine changes, how punishments are ignored. Think how most of the Old Testament and laws are rendered useless in light of new revelation. Did Lucifer ever return to heaven and have his position restored or gain a new one? It's like asking which part of the fiction isn't being told? It's like a cover-up of a fictional government unfolding a truth that makes more sense and why people would lie about it. It's a conspiracy of biblical proportions. They're all interesting ideas, but nothing more, and fantasy is great for that kind of thing.
More thoughts.
17 verses in the New Testament refer to Jesus as the "son of David."
The literal son of David was Soloman.
Soloman pops up a lot in reference to demons and magic, and it's interesting to note that the Star of David (Israel's flag) was never used by David, it can only be tracked back to Soloman. It is a magic symbol that is used to summon demons (it's called the Star of Remphan).
How could Jesus be the son of David, of the lineage of man tracked back through Joseph (with multiple contradictory versions of the family tree), if he was conceived of the Holy Spirit?
Christianity is largely a mix of Jewish and Roman pagan mythology in a new package. To Jews, it must seem like Jesus is the anti-Christ. But Jews don't have any better footing since the Jewish religion is steeped in its own polytheistic foundations where people loved sacrificing living things and spilling their blood in rites and rituals to scapegoat their "sins".
| QUOTE |
The scapegoat was a goat that was driven off into the wilderness as part of the ceremonies of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, in Judaism during the times of the Temple in Jerusalem. The rite is described in Leviticus 16.
"And the Goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a Land not inhabited." (Leviticus 16:22)

Maybe people should start asking the following question when proselytizing:
