This isn't a book review, so I didn't put it in the Litterature forum. Feel free to move it there if you think it's appropriate.

In short: Italian prosecutors want to sue Dan Brown, Ron Howard and a few others for obscenity, because those heretics profess the absurd idea that Jesus was married and had children.

We all know that Jesus healed sick people by touching them, walked on water and resurrected, but the allegation that he was married and had children is utterly ridiculous, even in a book of fiction.

Took them long enough to do this.

Not sure you can charge obscenity where it leans more heresy. It isn't like the language was filled with cross curse words or visual imagery of obscene nature. Heck, it was even laid out in the form of the knowledgeable professor (main character) was stating that the "Free Masons" or "Knights Templar" or inner-sanctum of a secret society believed him to be married and possibly to have fathered a child.

That is like pulling Norse mythology into a movie and then claiming it is obscene in that it lends credence to support their gods versus any Christian/Judaic/Islamic single entity of the almighty "Creator". Now if Dan Brown or the producers of the film had ran around professing that "The DaVinci Code" was based upon irrefutable facts to which they couldn't support and that goes against the basic religious doctrines... they'd probably have a real case.

But I guess you gotta battle monsters to be considered on the side of good. Even if that means making some up or making something worse than it is.
