Title: My Top TV Shows
Description: Rancer's List
RancerDS - December 15, 2006 04:28 AM (GMT)
1.) 24
2.) House M.D.
3.) Heroes
4.) CSI - Miami
5.) Will & Grace
6.) Justice League Unlimited
7.) Ghost Whisperer
8.) Just Shoot Me
9.) The Dresden Files
Quite the gamut here. From action-thriller to sci-fi/fantasy to historical fiction to medical to metaphysical (ghosts) to gay comedy to forensics. Can't stand any reality shows, sorry folks. There was a show with Ray Liotta and Virginia Madsen in it, but can't think of the title... watched a couple of shows... was pretty good. CSI franchies really didn't interest me, but Emily Proctor's accent is kewl... plus David Carruso plays off non-chalance very well.
What are yours??
{Edit #1} Snuck Just Shoot Me into this lineup. Forgot this is one of the better shows for quick, quippy one-liners with interersting personas.
{Edit #2} CSI-Miami takes 4th while House drops a spot and Just Shoot Me drops to the very bottom. Wow, they lined up Heroes against 24 in the Monday time slot. CBS surprised me by not putting CSI: Miami in that same slot. :( Grrrrrr on the timing, but could have been worse.
{07/22/2007 edit} Rome is taken out of the lineup for obvious reasons (as it was limited production for those not aware). And Justice League Unlimited is a cartoon on Boomerang but definately much improved over the ol' "SuperFriends" era. Plus added The Dresden Files which is pretty good most of the time.
Deltasix - December 15, 2006 04:35 AM (GMT)
1. Daily Show
2. The Office
3. Scrubs
4. My Name is Earl
5. The Colbert Report
6. Countdown with Keith Olbermann
7. Law and Order re-runs (The Original)
Of course theres also Sports Center somewhere in there, Sports Center is like Crack for the eyes.
I like comedy a lot, its mostly what I watch TV for. And I like "news." I find that the Daily Show is the best source of it, and Olbermann is pretty funny as well, and is a tad more "news-y." I don't claim that he is unbiased or that even MSNBC is a great source of news, but as far as all that goes, hes good. And his "Special Comments" are very well thought out.
Plus, anyone who hates O'reilly that much is a great guy in my book.
The Office is pretty funny, makes me feel like my job could be turned into a TV show, plus I think Carrell really makes the show, a strong lead man like that was what the UK version was lacking, in my opinion. Not something to argue about, just my taste.
And I've always like Law and Order, actually the only "cop" show that I like. I never liked CSI, too corny and evenly placed, bad acting too. Same with the Law and Order spinoffs.
As for Scrubs and My Name is Earl, dunno, just like them.

A couple of my favorites:
1. Queer as Folk (US Version, the UK verison is terrible)
2. Friends
3. The L Word
4. House MD
5. Plastic Surgery: Before and After
6. Medical Incredible
That's it for now, I really don't watch TV religiously anymore, since school got busy. I also like to watch comdey stuff, but Delta introduced me to that, I pretty much watch that with him, cause he knows who's good.

CURRENT UPDATE!!!!
1.) Friday Night Lights
2.) 24
3.) Lie to Me
4.) Dollhouse
5.) Life
6.) Fringe
7.) House M.D.
8.) Heroes
9.) Saving Grace
T.) Damages
Friday Night Lights is an amazing television show. If you don't try to compare it to the movie of the same name nor to the original book, this show is about the current emphasis put onto high school football... and holds especially true for Texas. After a handful of shows in the first season, I was hooked. Excellent casting with mostly unknown teen/young adult actors. One is even in the upcoming X-Men Origins movie!
24 is the one show that I'm glad they haven't given up.
Lie to Me is staring the not-so-popular Tim Roth and talks about micro-expressions of the face as well as general body language. Also, one of the best parts is when they talk about certain expressions, they show famous pictures of celebrities and politicians!
Joss Whedon's Dollhouse is in my top 5. One of the biggest reasons is the precious petite la femme of Eliza Dushka. The theme is a bit of a stretch but is acceptable after a few eppys. Also, they do add some "hooks" in to keep it enticing.
Life and Fringe are interchangeable almost, except for the fact that I guess Fringe wasn't purchased for a full season. If not, TOO BAD! This show was in my top 3 about a month or so ago.
Saving Grace is pretty good... but a little too heavy on the risque scenes of the once-hot Holly Hunter baring some part of her anatomy.
The rest were just added because I took a look at them and watched the first 2-3 episodes. Good shows, but not something I'm in the mood to watch.
I miss Moonlight, Journeyman, Jericho and even My Own Worst Enemy.
