http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/5117748.stmi didn't quote all of it because its a list of comments below the article. I found it quite interesting, for instance people who are gay and live in africa, religious people etc. heres my favourite quote:
| QUOTE |
The bible says that it is an abomination. It is a dirty game. It is dangerous to humankind. The first time I saw a man kissing another man on TV, I vomited the whole day. Rickie, USA |
Bullshit. that wouldn't make you sick even fo a second let alone all day. a danger to mankind? i say having this crazy vomiting disorder is more of a concern.

I honestly don't think that the US is that far away (in terms of whos in power and how many decades it would take) from becoming tougher on homosexuals. But its nice to remember that people here, while are still not treated equally, aren't being put to death.

It is, yeah, and quite a bit to. I'd direct you to the review of the movie "Jesus Land." While thats by no means the norm over here, I do believe that as of now, its probably one of the fastest growing populations.

I think what Delta meant here is that the United States isn't putting people to death (vs. killing in general) for their practices in homosexuality or choice of religion. Muslims still prefer to stone women for prostitution and do see homosexuality as an abomination. While the U.S. has put people to death in the guise of the 'state', most of the killings here were vigilante-style. And we've moved away from it somewhat since the era of Winston-Salem's witch-hunt.

Exactly, but honestly I can see us moving closer back to the Salem-era within the next few decades. Certainly closer than we are now.
Texas had anti-sodomy laws in the books up until last year, I'm pretty sure.
