Title: 30 Days
Description: On FX

Anybody watch it? It was pretty good.

Basiclly they send someone to live as a total opposite of what they are/believe for 30 days. A border-patrolling Minuteman went to live with a family of "illegal immagrents" for the first show of this season. Last season they sent a conservitive guy to live in the Castro district of San Fran, and a christian who had a very....lets say 'poor' opinion of Muslim people to live with them, among other things. To counterbalance it I guess, they are having an atheist join one of those mega church groups.

Not only do they live with people, they live as them (well, not the gay one) and as a part of their culture. I don't think its supposed to totally change the minds of either the people involved, or the people watching, but it does offer another point of view, which I find interesting.

If you can catch it on FX, I recommend it.

I saw part of the episode on the unemployed computer programmer living with the family in India getting a telemarketing job. This is one of the few shows I like to see on TV anymore. My mom was talking today about how she wanted to see the one on Religion. I just looked it up online and it's on next Wednesday.

I think i saw the end of the One with the blok who went to live in San fran. it was really weird because, i think if i remember rightly, he didn't want to leave. Then he was showing photos to his family when he got home and they were insulting gays as he was doing it.

Yeah, I'm interested in that one as well.

Well, I just watched the newest 30 days about the Atheist living with Christians. I thought it was politely done. Nothing shocking happened. I didn’t hear anything really new, but it was fairly interesting. They showed the Holy Land exerience theme park on the show. I actually went there once. It was pretty cool.

Anyone watch the one last wednesday? It was about abortion, it was very interesting. Though I intellectually knew alot of the stuff, it just renforced the fact that a majority of people (i.e. not the people yelling "Murder!" while holding pictures of aborted fetus) could work together very well on this issue. They are both there for the help of people who are pregnant. If pro-choice groups would inform and stress the types of houses that help women out with their children if they want them, like the one shown in the movie, though prehaps gov't run/non-relgious ones before talking about abortion, that would be good. If the housing/aid units would help people get aboritions by refering them to safe places to get one AFTER trying their darnest to get them to have the baby if the circumstances are there, both sides could come together pretty well.

Pro-choice people don't like seeing aboritions. Pro-life people aren't trying to restrict women. Both are working towards a commen goal, working towards it together would be best overall.
