I was watching a TV program thta said that the Holy Grail was infact the blood line of christ, and that he was married to mary magdeline. What do people think of this theory?

What kind of evidence did they use to support this theory?

Jesus is shown to have a beard, and in those times a Jewish man was unable to grow on less he was married. Indeed, un-married men where looked down upon, and it is known that Mary Magdeline was quite close to Jesus.
There is actually quite a bit of info about this, but I am not wholy sure of it, I'll look it up sometime.

Yeah I mean other than "The DaVinci Code."

I never read that actually.

I was under the impression that the grail was the cup that Christ used during the last supper.

You'd think that with the Bible's teachings on Idols the Holy Grail wouldn't be given so much attention.

Quite frankly? It's a crackpot theory that Dan Brown took and marketed. I've seen no real compelling evidence for it, and a lot of evidence against it.

I was thinking just that, how Mary might be the grail. It would be an interesting concept. If the grail be a real cup, then it might be in the many Vatican chambers, or destroyed through age or by the Romans.

Yeah I mean I'm sure Jesus drank from lots of cups. At the time, the disciples probably didn't think that the cup at the Last Supper would be the last cup that he would drink from. It was probably thrown in the wash basin along with the rest of the cups. (Yes I knew they drank from the same cup, but maybe they all had their own cups of water to go along with the wine or something).
At any rate, while I would not be surprised if the original "Grail" had been preserved for some time, I also would not be surprised if it was lost.
As for the Mary Magdalene theory, well like all good conspiracies, you can't prove it either way.

and if it were to suddenly reappear I wouldn't be shocked to find out it is later deemed a fraud.
